About Osiris Outdoor:
Osiris Outdoor Co. is a startup company dedicated to creating outdoor sporting products from entirely recycled materials. Our mission is to turn recycled plastics into outdoor adventures. By creating new, quality, popular products from recycled plastic, we intend to show the manufacturing world that plastic can be repurposed in ways previously unimagined and, in the process, make a small dent in the overabundance of plastic waste in America.
I didn't really understand corporate responsibility until after graduating college in 2018, entering the work force, and seeing first hand the kind of effort and commitments that some companies are willing to make (or not make) to be a community and environmental steward. As new business owners, we now have the opportunity to set the kind of high ethical standards and values that we think our community and supporters would want us to abide by, which is a humbling position to be in.
Although Osiris is young, we're trying to commit to corporate responsibility in a number of ways. Not only is the core of Osiris's mission centered around repurposing plastic waste for a better environment, but we back that up by being a proud member of 1% For The Planet. We've also partnered with The Boys and Girls Club of Wake Co. through our active Kickstarter, which allows backers to donate products directly to the B&GC. As we grow, we'll continue to look for opportunities to partner with and give back to the community.
Kickstarter:
Osiris Outdoor just launched its first Kickstarter campaign which offers our flagship product, the "Reprisal" kayak, for sale in addition to various apparel. The Reprisal kayak is a 10' sit-on-top recreational kayak that happens to be the first US-manufactured kayak made from 100% recycled plastic, and we think it's just an awesome product all around. We'd like to spread the word about it as much as we can, as every dollar raised through our Kickstarter campaign will go to scaling our manufacturing operations and beginning design of our next exciting product!
